Introduction to Volunteer Opportunities with Lead, Seed & Feed
Thank you for considering volunteering with the Lead, Seed & Feed program! Your participation helps transform vacant lots into vibrant gardens that beautify the neighborhood, supply fresh produce, and serve as educational spaces. Whether you're involved in gardening, teaching, or support roles, your efforts significantly enhance community sustainability and connectivity.
Volunteer Opportunities
1. Gardening and Horticulture:
- Garden Maintenance: Assist with planting, weeding, watering, and general garden care.
- Harvesting: Help with picking, preparing, and packaging produce for distribution.
2. Education and Outreach:
- Workshop Facilitation: Lead or assist in educational workshops on gardening, nutrition, and sustainability.
- Youth Mentoring: Work closely with young participants, teaching them gardening skills and life lessons.
3. Community Engagement:
- Event Coordination: Help organize and run community events and volunteer days in the garden.
- Outreach and Recruitment: Assist in recruiting more volunteers and spreading the word about our initiatives.
4. Administrative Support:
- Fundraising and Grants: Help with fundraising activities, grant writing, and managing donor communications.
- Program Administration: Support the day-to-day administrative tasks necessary for running our programs.
5. Special Projects:
- Construction and Carpentry: Assist in building and maintaining garden infrastructure, such as benches, signs, and raised beds.
- Art and Decoration: Contribute to beautifying the garden with art projects that enhance the aesthetic and educational value of the garden.
